Follow the wine trail from sun-baked gravels to coastal breezes. This immersive tour includes tastings at three of Hawke’s Bay’s most celebrated wineries, a fig grove visit, and a seasonal lunch platter in the Heretaunga Plains.

Your Journey Includes:

  • Gimblett Gravels – Bold Reds from Ancient Riverbed
    Start among the riverbed gravels of Gimblett Gravels, where powerful reds are born.
    Visit: Pask Winery, a founding producer famous for Bordeaux blends and Syrah.

  • Te Mata Hills – Elegance and Legacy
    Head to the Te Mata foothills, home of legacy and limestone.
    Visit: Te Mata Estate, New Zealand’s second-oldest winery and home to the legendary Coleraine.

  • Te Awanga Coast – Coastal Cool-Climate Expression
    End the tasting journey on the ocean’s edge.
    Visit: Clearview Estate, a pioneer in Chardonnay with colourful personalities behind the wine.

  • Local Produce & Light Lunch Platter

    Enjoy a guided visit to Te Mata Figs, where you’ll tour the fig groves, learn about artisan fig product creation, and enjoy a light platter lunch at the Figgery Café.

  • Additional menu/cabinet items and tasty take home souvenirs are welcome to be purchased at your own expense.

    If time allows, we’ll also stop at Arataki Honey for a tasting of native and floral honeys

Experience award-winning wine, a Māori cultural site and stunning sightseeing up Te Mata Peak. Beginning on the coast, you will gain an appreciation for Māori knowledge (Mātauranga Māori) at the Ātea a Rangi Celestial Compass.

From there, you'll enjoy a wine-tasting and shared cheese platter at Clearview Winery, a pioneer in premium chardonnay. Additional menu items are welcome to be purchased at your own expense.

After a scenic drive, you’ll then enjoy a leisurely tasting at New Zealand’s second-oldest Winery, the award-winning Te Mata Estate. Home of the famed Te Mata Coleraine wine.

Finish with breathtaking views on top of Te Mata Peak. All the while learning about the unique culture, geology, botany and history of the region

All the while, you will be guided by local experts in a fully electric vehicle with zero emissions.
